The treasury minister says the 'Rating and Valuation' consultation has drawn attention to the 'instability' of the current system.
Dr Alex Allinson told Tynwald, in response to a question from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse, that his department 'updated' the consultation following feedback from local authorities.
The deadline has been extended to the end of this month after 'impact assessments' about the quarry rates were updated.
Dr Allinson added that it would be up to the local authorities to consider the impact on residents when they set the rates if there are changes:
