UPDATE: Bruce has been found.

In a post on social media, Noodle's Canine Rescue said: "Noodle’s Canine Rescue volunteers have had a busy day.

"We received notification this morning that Bruce was missing near the Switchback Road. We immediately engaged our Thermal Drone team, who were on site within the hour.

"Searches were carried out in the immediate and surrounding areas by the thermal drone team and ground search volunteers, with our first sighting at 16:18. Bruce was having a snooze in a field nearby.

"We immediately instructed the owners relatives to meet us at the site (as the owner is on holiday). Once in position, with the thermal drone above with visibility, and ground search volunteers in position - the owners relative secured Bruce in the field.

"Bruce is now having a well deserved rest.

"Thanks for every single person who reported a sighting, helped with the admin and coordination and the biggest thanks to the team who secured Bruce on site! Huge effort, well done all! Another successful reunion.

"And finally, we could not have done this without the initial support from everyone who helped fund the Thermal Drone, it’s made quite the impact already!"

Drivers in the area of the switchback in Peel are being asked to be aware and drive a little slower as there is a dog missing in the area.

Bruce, a 7-year-old black/grey Jackapoo, escaped from a homestay property in the area last night.

He's described as very nervous and difficult to catch - people are advised not to shout or chase him.

Local dog search group Noodle's Canine Rescue says it's sending out its drone team to 'assess and begin thermal searches'.

If you see Bruce, report to 07718 333874 via phone, text or WhatsApp.

They are asking people to have to hand the location on what3words or a pin drop from google maps where possible.
