Treasury minister says there's still work to be done to tackle housing shortage

The treasury minister admits there's been a "successive failure to grasp the nettle" by this and previous administrations over the housing crisis.

Alex Allinson says there's still a need to build more houses and reform planning, despite housing being one of the main priorities for this administration.

Housing has been one of the main topics at this week's government conference, including an announcement about more support for first time buyers.
