Graphic designers say they've seen a decline in demand as a result

Concerns have been raised about the impact artificial intelligence is having on the Isle of Man's creative industries.

A number of graphic designers have reported declines in demand for their services as a result of businesses opting to use AI for their branding.

Gary Cooper is the director of Pixel Mixel here on the Island.

He says he's had to make a number of sacrifices as a result:

Gary's not alone in his fears.

Alex Pover says he's moved away from online creation altogether because he says there just isn't a market for it now:

But what about businesses who are turning to AI because they see it as the future?

Sean is from AI and Web Solutions Isle of Man:

An important aspect of this debate too is, who actually owns AI generated content?

Is it the person who asked AI to create it? Or the AI generator itself?

Dr Jaseeb Musthafa Mamalipurath is a Media Studies Lecturer at Queens University Belfast and has dedicated much of his research to the Ethics of AI:

So AI is here and it's here to stay. But the question is, how can we make sure it's used as a tool to help us, rather than a total replacement of the skills we possess as humans?
