Shoppers in Douglas give their view on the right time to deck the halls
As Douglas prepares for the great Christmas lights switch-on of 2025, we've been asking Manx residents; how early is too early?
Some people will already have their decorations up, others will wait until midnight on Christmas Eve, and a select few won't have taken theirs down since 1996. Each to their own.
With just five weeks until the big day, Manx Radio's John "Father Chris"-Moss went to Strand Street to find out when shoppers in the capital would be decking their halls:
Tonight's switch-on event coincides with the start of late night shopping in the capital, with shops staying open until 9pm every Thursday up until Christmas.
A Christmas market will also be held on 13-14 December showcasing local artisans and traders.
Parking will also be reinstated along the Promenade Walkway from today until 5 January.
